Heya, Gang! WHEW!! Finally got to cover 35. Here's the final cover ending my run as cover artist for Teen Titans Go!. There'll be some of my stock covers that may or may not pop up every now and then.

For this cover I wanted to go out with a bang, to say thank you to everyone that picked up and supported the book, and most of all made me feel welcomed as the cover artist. I asked my wifey, Alina, to hook up the background. She did an amazing job with that didn't she? You can see her hard work in section 'E'.

Here, I wanted Beast Boy to look at the audience to show his gratitude, and then he flies off into the distance for his next 'adventure(s)'.

WOWOWOW... when I designated Matilda to be the driver/pilot for No.3 some of you demanded that Mekk still follow the original line-up! hahaha I love that you all are devoted to him, so here he is. Thank you so much for diggin my creator owned property; Bastion's 7. It fuels me to push it harder.

Here's the deal. It takes 2 peeps to operate No.3. Just like the original game plan, they both sit inside his chest cavity. Mekk will be the pilot, and Matilda will be the one that orchestrates the martial art maneuvers. Now, I know you all must be thinking.... "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG!! Matlilda is an oldfart!" My countertattack verbally would be, "Exactly. hahahaha" I told you Matlida is one crazy mofo. Wait til I you see her streetwear. haha

Alrighty, here is Mekk, Matilda's sidekick, in the flesh... er.... fur. :)

Waddup, y'all??! I just wrapped up this design for Zero. Aight, here's the thing... I designed Zero, for Bastion's 7, several years ago, I then did another take on him a couple of years ago. I still wasn't feeling the design so I revistited him, today, and gave him a lil more funk to the design. heya, Gang! Firstly, thank you all for anticipating my creator owned project, Bastion's 7. I am really in awe that you'd be interested in it.

WHEW! Welp, here is page one of my book, Bastion's 7. Big thank you to my buddy, Howard Shum, for giving me direction with the synopsis I provided him, and a huge thank you to Alina for not letting me go easy with the pages. I'll insert cats she's drawn for me throughout the pages as they come along.

You know how I love coloring and plopping them on here for all you hustlers to peep. HOWEVER, here's the deal. There will be a teaser/preview put out by Image Comics to pimp out our anthology, Low Orbit. The teaser/preview will have a page or 2 of each story, or 1 sequential page and 1 sketchpage of concepts for each story. SO no matter what you get 2 pages of art from each artist. I believe it will start coming out for the San Diego Con.

I guess in other words, you'll have to see the colored version of the page in that teaser/preview. AHHHHHHHHHHHH DON'T HIT ME!!! hahaha

The Top 2 are from a few years back, but lately I have been wanting to update it, so I did the bottom row last night. :)

Alright- here is the explanation behind this piece. I love drawing images, having people interact showing some type of relationship. I am all about putting feelings behind my artwork (as we all are right?) (that's a given) In this piece I wanted to show that the X-men, no matter how bad-ass they are, are a family no matter what they face. As you see here Wolverine and Storm are sharing a bond. Storm's expression is showing her relieved to see an old friend as she reaches up to him with the look of "yeah, I'm all right" Wolverine always the comforting rough-and-tough, mofo reaches out to his sister-like friend. In the background Colossus is holding Shadowcat. For those who aren't familiar with these characters; Colossus dated Shadowcat. I have him in his flesh form on purpose to show his tender side. She is so fatigued from the battle, with the Sentinel, she has to slump over. Her dragon Lockheed is mourning over her. Lockheed and Shadowcat share their love like a pet and owner. Lockheed touches her hair feeling sorrow. I eventually want to include Nightcrawler in this one to show the religious aspect of it. I'll have him kneeling down away from the rest of the X-men. He'll be holding a cross tightly, between his hands while saying a prayer.

I'm reworking the whole page to make it more exciting and etc. Sorry to strain your eyes, but I promise color will seperate what's going on in the panel. All things will come together when it goes to print in our Low Orbit anthology, through Image Comics.

Heya, dudes and dudettes! I just wrapped up the pencils of the new backcover for my buddy, Mark Smith's Amazing Joy Buzzards comic.

Funny story.... Alina and I had dinner with a bunch of swell peeps, a couple weeks back, up in LA. Mark Smith was one of them there. He and I were enjoying some Pho King soup. DAMN YOU TRIPE AND BEEF BRISKET FOR BEING THE OHHHHHHHHHHH SO YUMMY.... addictin lil buggas! mmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... It's quite the tasty- eh, Mark? hahaha

So anywho, I asked Mark how his own creator owned book that he writes, Amazing Joy Buzzards, was coming along, and he said it was going tighter than a pair of butt cheeks. (Well.. he said it was going cool, but I thought it'd be spicier to improv it being about a tight pair of butt cheeks. )

AHEM... So I says, "Macdaddy Mark. What say you lemme do anotha backcova for your kick-ass book." He says "Yo, fool, dig this.... I in fact need a backcover done... Can you handle it?"

Heya, Gang! It's been a mo hasn't it? My buddy, Nick Bradshaw, just joined the line-up that myself, Alina (aynimeya) and Ryan Odagawa, and Micheal Woods have combined forces to bring you our Anthology; Low Orbit. We are aiming to have it available, this July 2006, for the San Diego Comic Con. Big thanks to Michael Woods for the hard work in promoting and making sure we met our deadlines with our personal projects for the Low Orbit Antho. If it weren't for him I would have waited a few more years before getting to mine, thank you Thailor.

Nick asked me to color his pages for the anthology, so here's page 1. I'm also coloring the pages for Alina's story in the anthology. Page one for hers is almost completed too. Then I'll be working on my pages too. hahaha I'm having a blast coloring the other gang's works for the book because it's helping me learn what I can apply to my own pages in the meantime! haha

Here's a unused pg. that I had done for Alias's Imaginiaries last year. I have a number of pgs. that havn't been seen...so now's the best place to start. See if you notice some of the misc. characters in the background on certain panels as well as foreground. Wasn't doing exact likeness of the characters..but thought it would be fun to throw them in. heh

3 out of 5 cards I did on Marvel Comics' Trading cards for Upperdeck, last year. I did something different here. I made all the backgrounds in Photoshop 6, and I signed my name '74' instead of Cheeks. I thought it would be s better idea to sign it like that for cards, so that it pops out since the cards are shrunken in the final.

Rollcall; left, right, and bottom. We have Erg, Leech, and Postman. All three are Morlocks from the X-men titles. Man, I miss the older X-men stories from the 70's to early 90's.

Well, folks...I guess it's my turn to chime in, huh? :) This is a great opportunity to be a part of this blog with such wonderfully talented individuals. I know that watching the new art that will be popping up everyday here from these fine artist will keep me motivated and inspired for months to come. I hope it does the same for all the visitors as well.

My contribution this time around is from one of the current projects i've been working on....10th Muse! I've followed the series since it was at Image and on to Avatar. Now, it's come to rest comfortably at Alias and is doing pretty well. I'm excited about it, personally. I get to work on some new character designs, too! One of the new characters I will be working with on my 4 issue run will be Camelot. I can't say much about him at this point, folks. Sorry :(

Here' s 2 covers Alina and I worked on. Here we have Teen Titans Go! issue 29, and 30. I did the pencils for both covers. Alina had done the colors for cover 29, she also had done the colors for the underwater scene for cover 30, and I colored the other portion featuring Dr. Light .

I've been doing my run on the Teen Titans Go! covers since issue 16. I love Alina's sense of desing in her own pencils and colors. I asked her to give me a hand for these 2 covers, so I could grow as an artist by seeing another's interpretation of colors and design over my pencils.

I was very impressed because she definitely knocked my socks off.

It's so great to be part of a community here on "ZOIINKS!!!" Thank you for the invite, Paul.

I also have learned alot from watching over fellow friends here at "ZOINKS!!!" . Thank you all for being a huge inspiration.
